Child's Grave

Collected by Julia Averkieva from the Kwakwaka'wakw (Kwakiutl) of Vancouver Island, Canada. Traditionally the corpse of a child was placed in a carved box. The box was then placed high in the branches of a spruce tree to prevent wolves from stealing the body.

Step 4 - 3, through lower 1 loop from below, hooks down double transverse 1f strings, drawing them down through the lower 1 loop, which slips off the back of 3 as 3 presses its tip against the palm. 45 joins 3 in hooking down its loop.
