Crisscross Diamonds

A contemporary string figure series created by Steve Newkirk of Ojai, California. The series begins with a single diamond. Additional diamonds are added one-by-one. The number of diamonds that can be added is limited only by the length of the string loop.

Step 4 - R5 picks up R1f, then presses against the side of R4 to maintain loop order; R1 picks up lower R5n, then presses against the side of R2 to maintain loop order. An X or "crisscross" appears on the R palm. With the help of the L hand Navajo the loops on R5 and on R1 (in each case lift the lower loop over the upper loop and release it on the palmar side of the finger).

Repeat once more and extend.

Note that Step 4 is the same as Step 2 except for the order in which the movements are performed.
