A Man Chewing
(Northern Alaska)

1.  Follow steps 1 to 5 of The Man and his Harpoon except exchange the 3 loops on the far side of the figure.

2.  Turn the palms downward. Exchange 1 loops in the following manner:  L1 proximally removes R1 loop (fig. 90a - steps A and B); R1 picks up the original L1 loop, removes it, and draws it to the right (fig. 90b - steps A and B).

3.  1 picks up 2n (fig. 90c - step A). Release 2 loop. 2 proximally enters 3 loop (fig. 90c - step B). You have formed fig. 80d, A Man Chewing. Produce the chewing motions by alternately moving 2 and 3 to the side and back toward the center.

4.   L2 is released from  its loop and passes, from the far side,  between the upper and lower L1f strings and proximally picks up both L1n strings (fig. 90e).

5.  Release L1, L3, R1, and R23 loops.  Extend forming fig. 90f, The Brown Bear.
