The Sealer
(Alaska to Cumberland Sound)

1.  Make The Two Hips. Proximally transfer 1 loop to 2.

2.  In the middle of the figure just below the upper TV string is a shorter string running parallel to it. Pass 1 away from you under this string and return with it (fig. 82a). Inuit Ending, then proximally transfer 1 loops to 2.

3.  Two strings, one in front and one in back, run from each side diagonally down toward the center of the figure to loop around the two lower TV strings. With each 1 pick up the near diagonal from below (fig. 82b), then Inuit Ending, and proximally transfer 1 loops to 2.

4.  In the middle of the figure are two diagonals, behind which runs a section of string parallel to the lower TV strings. Pass 1, from the near side, under that string section in the center of the figure; proximally pick up the string, and draw it back through the diagonals (fig. 82c). Inuit Ending.  This is fig. 82d, Two Sealers. It may require some manipulation to look its best.

Two separate dissolution sequences have been recorded for this figure:

Cape Prince of Wales Dissolution:

1.  2 proximally removes 1 loop. 2n is crossed by two single loops close to the fingers, and by two intertwined loops in the center. Insert 1 away from you under 2n between the two types of loops (fig. 82e). Release 2 loops. "The man has dropped his mitts."

2.  On the far side of the figure a horizontal string crosses from one palmar string to the other. Proximally insert 2 in front of this string, then Index Twist 1n away through it (fig. 82f - step A). Release 1 loop (fig. 82f - step B) and extend (fig. 82g). "The man in his haste has dropped his spear."

3.  Release 5 loop and extend (fig. 82h). "The man stumbles and falls on his left kidney."

Inland Alaska Dissolution:

1.  Step 1 of Cape Prince of Wales dissolution. "The man drops his snow-shoes."

2.  Rotate the figure a quarter-turn clockwise, as follows:
   a. R2 proximally removes L1 loops
   b. L2 distally removes  L5 loops
   c. L1 distally removes R5.
Extend. This is fig. 82i, A Seal, that the man is dragging along.

3.  Release LH from the figure, proximally insert L2 into the R2 loop and L1 into the R1 loop and extend.  This is fig. 82j, A Harpoon, that the man dropped.

4.  Release L1 from its loop and on the near side of the figure proximally insert it between the two near central strings and the two far central strings. Release loops from L2 and R2 and extend catching the L1 in A Noose, (fig. 82k).  The man has speared the seal.
