The Two Hips (Barrow and Colville River Version) 1. Position 1.
2. Rotate 1 over the 5f string and down, then toward the body and up, catching the former 5f string between 1 and 2. There should now be 1n to 5f palmar strings below 1f and 5n TV strings (fig. 80a). Pick up palmar strings with 2 as in Opening A (see fig. 80b).
3. Proximally transfer first 2 loops, then 5 loops, to 1. Keep the loops well separated.
4. 5 passes proximally through the proximal 1 loop, then to the far side of the two distal 1 loops, and hooks down the two distal 1f strings through the proximal 1 loop (fig. 80c).
5. Pass 2 and 3 from the far side between the two proximal 1n strings and do an Index Twist with the distal 1n TV string (fig. 80d). Release the two distal 1 loops.
6. R Katilluik remaining 1 loops. This is fig. 80e, The Two Hips.
7. 5 releases 5 loops by moving away from the body and picks up the string indicated in fig. 80e. Extend slowly and gently to form fig. 80f, The Two Men.
The Two Hips 2. R Katilluik remaining 1 loops but do not release 2 loops in the final phase of the katilluik (fig. 80g). A string crosses the 5 loop from 5n to 5f in the back of the figure; bend 5 back and pick this up. This produces fig. 80h, The Two Hips (Coronation Gulf Version).
3. Release 2 loops to get fig. 80f (called The Two Sticks that Support the Lamp by the Coronation Gulf Inuit).
