Two Brown Bears and Their Cubs
(Mackenzie Delta and Inland Alaska)

1.  Make Two Brown Bears, leaving loop on 1. With 1 and 2, grasp opposite 5 loop, remove 5 from the loop and reinsert from the opposite direction (away from you), so that the figure lies flat.

2.  With 2 pick up opposite 1f strings ("X" in fig. 8a, only the R2 pick up is shown) as in opening A. Proximally transfer 2 loop to 1. Distally transfer 5 loop to 2.


3.  5 hooks down 2n through proximal 1 loop.

4.   Index Twist (fig. 8b) and release all 1 loops.

 

 

 

 

 

5.  There is a diamond close to either side of the figure. 1 picks up, from below, the lower inner string of the diamond on its side of the figure (fig. 8c).
