| Snapping off the Head (Siberia to Mackenzie Delta) 1. Loop over L1 and L2 only. Close L345 over L1n and L2f, and grasp the two long hanging strings in the RH. Turn the LH inward and down allowing L12 loop to fall off onto L1n and L2f (fig. 78a - step A). Release L345 (fig. 78a - step B) then with L1 and L2 pull L1n and L2f through the former L12 loop a few inches. 2. Grasp the end of the hanging loop in the RH and pass it away from you through the noose held in the LH (fig. 78b). Tighten the slip knot around the end of the loop so it protrudes from the slip knot about 1/4 inch (fig. 78c). 3. Two strings pass to the right from the knot. Spread those strings and pick them up with each hand in position 1 so that the knot is in the center of the figure. 4. Follow steps 3 to 7 of The Squirrel. 5. Examine the two 1n strings. One set leads directly to the slip knot. Proximally pick up that set with 2 from the far side and carefully raise the knot as in fig. 78d. 6. To dissolve the figure: pull firmly with 1 to break the slip knot. |
