| The Fish Net Torn by Polar Bears (Alaska to the Mackenzie Delta) 1. Opening A. 2. Pass 1 away from you over 2n, under 2f, then pick up 5n and return (fig. 50a).
3. 3 passes over 2 loops and picks up 1f. Release 1 loop (fig. 50b).
4. Pass 1 away from you over 2n string, then under all others and return with 5f (fig. 50c). Do not release 5 loop yet!
5. Release 2 loop (fig. 50d - step A). Proximally transfer 3 (X in fig. 50d) loops to 5, then proximally transfer both 5 loops to 2, making sure they stay in the same order on the fingers.
6. Under all strings insert 4 and 5 proximally into 1 loop (fig 50e - step A) and hook down 1n. 7. Release 1 loop. Insert 1 distally (away from you) into 45 loop, then raise 1 on the back side of the figure and proximally insert into the distal 2 loops only, and hook distal 2f back through the 45 loop. Then pick up 45f on the back of 1 and return to position (fig. 50e - step B).
8. Release 45 loops, then under all strings insert 4 and 5 proximally into 1 loop and hook down 1n (fig. 50f - step A). Proximally transfer 2 loops to 1 (fig. 50f - step B).
9. Distally insert 2 into 1 loops; 2 picks up proximal 1n, lifts it above distal 1n and hooks up distal 1n with the aid of 3 in an Index Twist movement (fig. 50g - step A). Release 1 loops (fig. 50g - step B). This is The Fish Net (fig. 50h).
10. 1 proximally removes 2 loop. Pass 2 toward you from the back side of the figure just above the lower TV string at the point shown in fig. 50i - step A. Raise 2 on the near side of the figure, and pass it to the back side of the figure at the corresponding location on the upper TV string in fig. 50i - step A. Hook up the upper TV string and, with the help of 3, pull it through the space just above the lower TV string, and back to position.
11. Release 1 loop (fig. 50i - step B). Extend while untangling the strings. You get fig. 50j, The Two Polar Bears who tore the fishing net.
