Two Big Eyes
(Alaska to the Mackenzie Delta)

1.  Opening A.

2.  2 passes over 1 loop and hooks up 1n.  2 rotates toward the center and up, catching 1n on the nail side of 2 (fig. 39a - step A).  Drop 1 loops (fig. 39a - step B).

3.  1 under 2 loops proximally enters 5 loop, picks up 5n and proximal 2f.  1 over 2 loops distally picks up 5f (fig. 39b).

4. 1 proximally picks up distal 2n (fig. 39c - step A).  On 1, Navajo lower three strings over upper string (fig. 39c - step B).

5.  Release 5 loop.  5, from the far side, hooks down the string indicated in fig. 39d - step A).

6.  3 proximally enters the 2 loops along side 2 (fig. 39d - step B). Distally pinch 1n between 2 and 3 close to 1 and pull it throught the original 2 loops catching it on the back of 2 in an Index Twist type movement (fig. 39d - step C). Release 1 loop.

7.  R Katilluik the 2 vertical strings indicated  in fig. 39e.

8.  3 distally enters the 1 loops (fig. 39f - step A). There are 3 loops around each side of the upper TV string. One of the loops is a 5n string. 2 passes from the side through the other two loops (usually they are the outer loops) and catches up the center of the upper transverse string from the far side. 2 rotates down and outward drawing the upper transverse string back through the outer loops with an Index Twist movement (fig. 39f - step B).  1 withdraws from its loop. You have formed The Two Snow Shovels (fig. 39g).

9.  Release 3 and extend.  You have formed The Two Big Eyes (fig. 39h).
