| The Beaver (Kobuk River, Barrow, and Inland Alaska)The Red Fox (Cape Prince of Wales, Point Hope) 1. Place a loop over 1 and 2 of each hand (so there are 1n and 2f TV strings). 2. Close 345 fingers over both TV strings; turn hands inward and down. Allow 12 loop to fall off onto the TV strings and slide it toward the center a few inches (this is the beginning of Little Finger, Method 3). Rest TV strings on sides of 2 by inserting 2 into 345 loop beside 345 fingers (as in fig. 27a). 3. Point R2 and L2 toward the body and lay R2 loops over L2 (fig. 27a) so they form an X on top of L2 (fig. 27b). Release RH from all loops. Point L2 to the right and proximally insert R2 under the double strings of the lower right arm of the X, then turn R2 downward and hook up the double strings of the upper right arm of the X from the upper side. (fig. 27b - step A). Point R2 upward. Bring L2 up beside R2 (fig 27b - step B) and separate them keeping the double far distal 2 strings above the other strings.
4. There should be 4 loops on each 2. Distally transfer L2 loops to L1 while maintaining separation between double loops (fig. 27c).
5. Point R2 toward the body. Hook down distal double Llf through proximal L1 loop with L5 (fig. 27d - step A)Hook up proximal ln with L2 (fig. 27d - step B). Release loops from L1.
6. Proximally insert L1 into L2 1oop, then pass Ll to the right behind the upper left strings of the diamond and distally hook up the R2 loop (fig. 27e). Return L1 to position.
7. Release all RH loops then proximally transfer L1 loop to R1 (fig. 27f - steps A and B). Rotate R1 a 3/4 turn toward you, down and back. Distally insert R2-5 into Rl loop to enlarge it. This is The Beaver (fig. 27g). Notes: The procedure is almost identical to that of Gordons No Name, differing only in Step 4. Index Next Figure Previous Figure
