| A Man Hanging by the Neck (Indian Point and Inland Alaska) 1. Steps 1 to 4 of The Polar Bear. 2. Two diagonal strings cross in the center of the figure. L1 and R1 pick up those strings at their crossing point from below (fig. 146a). Inuit Ending.
3. Two strings pass across the center of the figure and cross in the middle. 2 passes, from the far side, between those two strings and draws the upper one away from the body. 2 then catches up the upper TV string, from above from the far side, and performs an Index Twist (fig. 146b - step A). Release 1 loop and extend (fig. 146b - step B).
4. L1 proximally enters the L2 loop, rotates downward and catches up the two diagonal strings below it. Point L1 upward (fig. 146c). R1 enters the L1 loops from below (fig. 146d). Inuit Ending.
5. Three strings pass around the L palmar string and horizontally across the back of the figure. L2 on the far side of the figure passes downward between those three strings and the rest of the figure. L2 then, from the far side, hooks up the lower TV string near L5. L2 draws that last string behind the figure. (fig. 146e).
6. Release the R5 loop. R5 passes proximally through the L1 loop, distally removes the L2 loop, and returns to position on the near side of the figure (fig. 146f). Release the L5 loop (fig. 146g), and extend. You have formed A Man hanging by the Neck (fig. 146h).
